Vans and Queer Surf Launch Inclusive Collection for Pride Month

Vans X Queer Surf Knu Skool Shoe

Just in time for Pride Month, Vans has teamed up with Queer Surf to launch a special surf-inspired collection that champions LGBTQ+ voices within the global surf community.

Designed by Queer Surf founder Kyla Langen, the collection reimagines three classic Vans sneaker styles alongside a full range of apparel, including graphic tees, socks, caps, and sweatshirts. You can find the entire collection on Vans’ website.

A Blend of Retro Surf and Nature-Inspired Designs

The collection beautifully merges retro surf aesthetics with patterns drawn from nature, like ocean waves, sand, and local wildlife, all embodying themes of “freedom and subversion.” Expect unique prints such as a coastal leopard, inspired by the leopard shark; a pelican graphic symbolizing community and safety; and a checkerboard pattern derived from Queer Surf’s logo. This distinctive logo features a triangle representing a wave, a rectangle nodding to a surfboard, and a circle symbolizing the sun, capturing the ocean’s rhythm and Queer Surf’s inclusive mission: “All Bodies, All Boards.”

Step Out with Pride

Vans’ Pride sneakers in this collection are designed to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with vibrant colors, bold designs, and messages of self-expression. Key styles include the Vans X Queer Surf Authentic Shoe, the Vans X Queer Surf UltraRange 2.0 Shoe, and the Vans X Queer Surf Knu Skool Shoe.

As the Vans website states, “From low-tops to high-tops, these shoes deliver everyday comfort and durability, whether you’re skating, exploring, or hanging out. Each pair represents Vans’ commitment to inclusivity and equality, letting you step out with pride all year long.”

Queer Surf: Fostering Inclusive Spaces

Based in California, Queer Surf has been dedicated to fostering inclusive spaces since 2016. They support queer wellness, expand access to nature, and grow surf culture through education and representation. By creating these welcoming environments, they enable diverse communities to connect with nature and thrive.

This collaboration is part of Vans’ ongoing commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community through annual Pride Month collections.
