Benito Skinner Explores Self-Discovery in College in New Prime Video Series

Overcompensating, Prime Video

Benito Skinner, known for his comedic work, brings his semi-autobiographical series, Overcompensating, to Prime Video.

This college-set dramedy follows Benny (Skinner), a closeted former football star, and his unlikely friendship with Carmen (Wally Baram), an outsider determined to fit in.

With support from Benny’s sister (Mary Beth Barone) and her boyfriend (Adam DiMarco), they navigate the complexities of college life, including “horrible hookups, flavored vodka, and fake IDs.”

The series, featuring a star-studded cast including Connie Britton, Kyle MacLachlan, Kaia Gerber, Rish Shah, Owen Thiele, and Charli XCX, explores themes of self-discovery and the lengths people go to “overcompensate.”

Jonah Hill serves as an executive producer, and Charli XCX is also the executive music producer.

Overcompensating premieres May 15 on Prime Video.
