Riverside LGBTQ+ Pride is thrilled to announce the creation of its inaugural Youth Leadership Board, a groundbreaking initiative that invites young people to play a central role in planning youth-focused activities for the upcoming 2025 Inland Empire PRIDE festival.
The Youth Leadership Board, composed of high school-aged youth, will be responsible for spearheading the development of the Youth Zone at the festival, which will take place in May.
The Youth Leadership Board provides an exciting opportunity for participants to take the lead on youth-focused work in a non-profit organization, learning valuable skills in project planning, event coordination, and community engagement. Members will also gain experience in running activities aimed at involving local youth, offering them a head start on important life and work skills that will enhance their college applications and future career prospects.
“We’re excited to see what these bright young minds will bring to the table,” said Mackenzie Lussier, Youth Director of Riverside LGBTQ+ Pride. “This will give youth in our community a voice, while helping them develop leadership skills that will benefit them well beyond the festival.”
