Kit Connor, the queer teen heartthrob on Netflix’s wildly popular series Heartstopper, will be showing fans a bit more of himself in season three with intimate scenes, which he said took several hours to film, reports Teen Vogue.
“We’ve been taking baby steps,” Connor said of the sex scenes in an interview with The Sunday Times. He explained that both he and Joe Locke have had the same intimacy coordinator on set since the beginning, ensuring they are both comfortable.
“Season one, [the intimacy coordinator] would be there making sure that we were comfortable holding hands,” Connor continued. “And now we’re doing the sex scenes. We shot a lot of footage for them. Not much actually ended up in the show.”
Connor also said that production shot “the sex scenes for about seven hours.”
Season 3 of Heartstopper will hit Netflix on October 3, 2024.
