REV. STEVEN JOHNSON LEYBA’s Exhibition: L.A. XXX SEXUAL COLLAPSE, An Erotic Apocalypse, takes place next month on March 19, from 6-9pm at TOM House.
“Just in time for the next stage in the struggles of our collective human evolution in the City of Los Angeles – as what could be a new ground zero of cultural, political and climate catastrophes, both real and imagined. Just as Goya created The Disasters of War, I am here to paint Los Angeles’ total collapse,” says the TOM House Artist-In-Residence.
“Like returning to the womb, returning to the place in which I was born has been very inspiring and ignited a whole new chapter, not only in life, but in my writing, my handmade books, painting and performance art.”
“I was born in L.A. and am creating a series of paintings, spoken-word poems and writing a chapter in my 3rd memoir while I am an Artist-in-Residence documenting my time at Tom of Foundation in writings and paintings.”
