Rainbow Hill Recovery, dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community, opened its doors on June 12, 2023. This state-of-the-art center is located in the Miracle Mile district of Los Angeles and is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals who are struggling with substance use disorders.
Their mission is to provide LGBTQ+ individuals with tools, community and mentorship to help improve their overall health, well-being and reduce recidivism in their substance use disorders.
Under the leadership of Chief Clinical Officer and Clinical Director, Betsy Spier, LMFT, Rainbow Hill’s staff offers a highly personalized approach tailored to meet each of their client’s individual needs to help them attain the personal growth and change they are seeking.
Founders Joey Bachrach and Andrew Fox recognized that the LGBTQ+ community often faces unique challenges in recovery, including discrimination and lack of understanding from mainstream treatment providers.
“What make us unique is that we truly are affirming to our community,” says Rainbow Hill’s Clinical Director, Betsy Spier in an interview with THE FIGHT.
“90% of the staff are LGBTQIA+ and the others are trained and are truly our comrades in the work we do. We are a community that is supportive, not punitive and want our clients to feel that they are here to get support, help, direction and empowerment in their lives and sobriety.”

Rainbow Hill provides a range of services, including individual therapy and groups, which will include brain chemistry and relapse, shame and resilience and The 3 S’s [system, support, and self]. In addition, they offer EMDR, Brainspotting and other trauma informed modalities.
