San Diego Pride is proud to announce the all-queer headliners of the 2022 Pride Festival: TikTok icons Ashnikko and Baby Tate, Grammy award-winning pop star Daya, and Latin Grammy-nominated and San Diego-native Snow Tha Product.

San Diego Pride Week begins Saturday, July 9 and the Pride Festival is Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17, in Balboa Park. The festival  includes over 170 musical acts across four stages. Tickets for the Festival and other Pride Week events are on sale now here

This year’s theme is “Justice with Joy,” inspired by San Diego Pride’s decades of LGBTQ-centered philanthropy alongside the joyous return of in-person Pride celebrations.

“As we prepare for our return to a full-scale Pride celebration, our team couldn’t be more honored to announce this diverse group of fiercely talented LGBTQ+ headliners,” said Fernando Z. López, Executive Director of San Diego Pride.”Creating civic and artistic spaces where our LGBTQ community can safely and authentically be ourselves is a social justice issue. These headliners, our brilliant local artists and musicians, and our entire community are ready to celebrate Justice with Joy in July.”

The two-day festival features local LGBTQ+ and BIPOC artists, educational and art exhibits, local businesses, interactive cultural presentations, delicious food, HIV testing, and more. Previous festival headliners include Melissa Etheridge, Kesha, Kim Petras, TLC, JoJo, Tinashe, En Vogue, Estelle, and Big Freida.

“Growing up in San Diego, it brings me so much happiness to be able to be a part of such an important event for queer people like myself,” said Saturday’s performer Snow tha Product.

“It’s important and especially relevant because of what’s been happening in this country with regard to the very harmful and regressive LGBTQ – and specifically trans-exclusionary – bills being passed,” said Saturday’s headliner Daya. “It’s more crucial than ever to carve out spaces where we can not only feel visible and protected from these attacks but also celebrated and lifted up for who we are.”

“As a bisexual Black woman in this world, justice is not something that was easily obtained for me,” said Sunday’s performer Baby Tate. “Knowing those hardships makes supporting the LGBTQ+ social justice movement a no-brainer. We all deserve to freely love who we choose  in peace.”

“Queer people deserve safety, love, fairy tale endings, and a space in our communities to be ourselves,” said Sunday’s closing performer Ashnikko.  “It’s about celebrating ourselves in the face of people who try to squash and deny our existence.”

Also returning this year is the Pride Parade on Saturday, July 16 at 10 a.m., which is free and open to the public. The San Diego Pride Parade annually attracts over 250,000 people from all over the world

All proceeds from the festival and parade go to supporting San Diego Pride’s LGBTQ-centered philanthropy and year-round education and advocacy programs. As of 2022, San Diego Pride has donated over $2.5M to local, national and international LGBTQ-serving organizations.

Founded in 1974, San Diego Pride is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is: Fostering pride in and respect for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities, locally, nationally, and globally.
