After announcing last week that it would be ban all adult content on its platform, leading to an outcry from creators and an exodus to its competitors, OnlyFans has reversed course. Adult content is (currently) here to stay on OnlyFans, reports The Advocate.
“Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard,” the company said in a tweet Wednesday. “We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change. OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.”
The reason for the initial decision to ban adult contact was due to pressure from its banking partners and payment providers. “In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform, and continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines,” the company previously said in a released statement.
