Bianca Castro, the beloved RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4 star known to fans worldwide as Jiggly Caliente, has passed away at the age of 44, according to a heartfelt announcement on her social media.

Her family shared a touching tribute on her Instagram page, stating, “A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity. She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world.”

The news comes shortly after the family’s announcement earlier this week that Castro had “undergone the loss of most of her right leg” and would be unable to return as a judge for the upcoming season of Drag Race Philippines. She was also expected to refrain from “any public engagements for the foreseeable future.”

Jiggly Caliente first captured hearts on RuPaul’s Drag RaceSeason 4 in 2011, where she placed eighth. Her talent and charisma led to further appearances, including RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars Season 6, and she held a prominent role as a main judge on Drag Race Philippines.

Beyond the Drag Race universe, Castro also showcased her acting abilities as Veronica Ferocity in Ryan Murphy‘s acclaimed FX series Pose.

The news of Jiggly’s passing has been met with an outpouring of grief from fellow drag artists, who have taken to social media to express their sorrow and share memories.

Morphine Love Dion, a star from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16, expressed her deep sadness on Instagram, writing, “I cannot stop crying. I love you so much I wish I can hug you one more time this can’t be real…”

Baga Chipz, from Drag Race UK Season 1, fondly remembered Jiggly as “one of the most kindest, sweetest souls I’ve ever met” in an Instagram comment. “I’m gonna miss you beautiful. Thank you for always being so lovely. Rest easy legend.”
