Jennifer Coolidge in an interview with Queerty at the star-studded Red Carpet Opening Night Party of her friend Tristan Schukraft’s The Tryst gay luxury resort in Puerto Vallarta:
“I think the gays are the toughest breed of human beings. Usually the beginning of their lives have been tough, and they’ve had to endure all sorts of [hardships] and suffering, just feeling like they’re not fitting in, and I think the insecure kids growing up could be incredibly cruel and judgmental [to them.] So I think they have been strong from the very beginning and they have done an incredible job.
I mean, just about all my friends are gay and they’re all doing really cool stuff, right? I always feel like such a loser when I’m around them because they’re such achievers. And I guess they always felt like they had to compensate [for something.] But I’m just surprised at how consistent that sort of scenario is—I don’t have any gay friends who aren’t doing a hundred things, I really don’t! And you really can’t say that about a lot of groups of people.”
