U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes‘s ruling echoed another decision made earlier in the day, both concluding the ban likely infringes on the rights of transgender service members.
The rulings occurred amidst a rare public dispute, where Trump’s calls for a judge’s impeachment were rebuked by Chief Justice John Roberts. Judge Reyes granted the administration time to appeal, delaying her order’s implementation until Friday.
