Congressional candidate Jazmina Saavedra may have thought accosting a trans woman at a Los Angeles restaurant would win her votes, but it didn’t quite pan out — the Republican came in third place in Tuesday’s primary election, reports The Advocate.
Incumbent Democrat Nanette Barragan crushed her competition for California’s 44th Congressional district, winning over 26,000 votes, or nearly 66 percent of the vote.
